Our Mission

Seeds of Health is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a mission to meet the unique needs of urban children through small schools in a caring, personal environment. 

Established in 1983 as a Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Clinic, Seeds of Health now also operates Seeds Schools, a network of intentionally small schools educating more than 1,500 students annually. In expanding, Seeds of Health became the first K-12 charter school agency in the State of Wisconsin. The network’s public 2r charter schools, authorized by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, include Seeds of Health K-8 Elementary School, Veritas High School, and Tenor High School’s two campuses, Tenor Cathedral Square and Tenor Journal Square. 

In 2027-28, Seeds Schools will be opening a second Veritas campus, Veritas East, to join the original campus, now called Veritas West. Grandview High School is Seeds of Health’s partnership school, authorized under the Children-at-Risk Law through Milwaukee Public Schools. In addition to Seeds Schools, Seeds of Health continues to operate the WIC Clinic, serving low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk.
