Homelessness Resources

Seeds of Health is dedicated to ensuring that all our students learn, including our students who are homeless. Our schools define homeless children as Children who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, and includes:

  • Sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or similar reason
  • Living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, or camping grounds due to lack of other accommodations
  • Living in emergency or transitional shelters
  • Abandoned in hospitals
  • Living in cars, parks, public spaces, abandoned buildings, substandard housing, bus or train stations, or similar setting
  • Living in a primary nighttime residence that is public or private place not designed for or commonly used as a regular sleeping accommodation for people
  • Children who are migratory and live in one of the situations above

If you are aware of any children who may qualify according to the above situations as homeless, our schools provide services and support to children who are homeless. Some of the services include:

  • The child will be immediately enrolled in school, regardless if typical enrollment materials are not available. The child will be enrolled at any time of the year.
  • School supplies, adequate clothing, and other daily living items will be available
  • All fees will be waived

The student will have access to all educational opportunities and parents will receive all school information. If the parent has any concerns about the child’s rights or their parental rights, a prompt resolution to any concerns will be found. Our schools are committed to having all our students learn.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Kelly Rampelberg or your school's Homeless Liaison.
