Dear Friends,

Tenor, which is Latin for “continuing momentum for the duration; a career,” is the first school of its kind in MilwaukeeTenor High School (Tenor) offers students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and a Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) certificate in a specific area of concentration.  With its career development focus, Tenor is designed for students that want to succeed in a career.  Not only will Tenor prove to be an asset to its students, but to Wisconsin employers as well. Tenor works to help students become better prepared employees with strong skills in communications, math, science, problem solving, critical thinking skills, and work ethic; and, employees who have “earned how to learn.”

Walk into Tenor and it’s easy to see and feel the difference.  From its brightly painted walls, carpeted floors, and students completely engaged in the classroom, Tenor provides a safe, comfortable, and protected environment that allows students to thrive.  Small class sizes, dedicated teachers and administrators, and a focused curriculum allow students to experience both academic and personal success.

What’s learning about careers without experiencing them first hand?  Tenor has developed relationships throughout the business community, and its Career Café allows students the opportunity to “do” lunch with members of the business community who represent a variety of career choices.  From all school assemblies featuring guest speakers, to classes in career exploration and professionalism, Tenor provides students a wide range of learning experiences designed to ensure student success.  Holding high expectations in an environment fostering close relationships and personal responsibility, Tenor High School is preparing its students for tomorrow…. today.
