Guidance Services: A variety of services are available to students through the guidance department. Total development of each student is the primary concern of the department. Each student has the opportunity to work directly with a career counselor to help explore and make decisions regarding higher education, vocational training or employment opportunities available to him or her after graduation.
Social Services: School-based social work staff provides case management, direct counseling and assist in coordinating day care. In addition, intervention on attendance problems, home visits, assistance and referral to help students and their families cope with crisis situations and other advocacy and support services are offered.
Homebound Instruction Program: To provide students who give birth during the school year an opportunity to adjust to parenthood. This program allows them to continue their academic work at home while earning credit.
Peer Advocates Program: To give students a sense of empowerment and control over their lives in areas of problem solving, decision-making, interpersonal communication and self-care.
School Psychologist: Specialist provides on-going support to students and families as identified by student service referral. Crisis intervention and grief counseling also provided.
WIC (Women, Infants, and Children): Located on site, this federal program provides health and nutrition education to all eligible pregnant students, teenage parents and their children up to age five.
