Extra Curricular Activities

Student Involvement

Student activities represent a wide variety of school-sponsored teams, clubs and organizations. These activities can help students develop leadership skills, communication skills, teamwork and decision making skills. Get involved! A student’s choice to participate in any of the school-sponsored activities may depend upon grades and attendance. A complete physical examination signed by a physician is required each year for students to participate in interscholastic athletics.

The following are some of the activities at Grandview High School:

  • Flag Football (Boys)
  • Basketball (Boys)
  • Basketball (Girls)
  • Volleyball (Girls)
  • Soccer (Both)

Parental Involvement

The Student/Parent Advisory Council is a committee composed of parents and students. This seven-member council, co-chaired by the Principal and a parent selected by the Council, will meet quarterly.

The parents and students will be involved in providing input about:

  • Daily school operations and procedures
  • School program implementation
  • School assessment
  • Issue resolution and problem solving
  • Parental input

In addition, training sessions for parents will be held by the staff on a variety of topics, e.g., adolescent development and needs, technology training, problem solving and dispute resolution skills, active listening skills for parents and the like.
